Dedicated to the Apostle, Paul, the St Pauls Cathedral is primarily an anglican church that has seen important events taking place on its premises such as the funeral of Lord Nelson and Sir Winston Churchill, the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spence and the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
Having been decorated and restored over the years, St Pauls has still retained much of its mosaics, paintings and stone carvings which can be seen throughout the building. The fascinating whispering dome within the interior of the dome is situated 30 metres above the cathedral floor and is famous for its acoustics.Striking in form and structure, the cathedral also offers stunning views across the capital from its Golden Gallery that is surely worth the 530 steps you need to climb to reach the top.
